Hold on to our tongues: Exile and migration, we hope to intrigue and inspire you to join us for an exciting conversation with Doan Bui, who will explore with us the challenges and importance of preserving our heritage and cultivating our mother tongue when uprooted in a different culture.
Doan Bui is an accomplished author and journalist renowned for her insightful exploration of complex social issues. She is the author of two novels: La Tour (2022), which was a finalist for the Goncourt First Novel Award, and Orange, which won the Literature of Exile Award. Her other notable works include Le Pays de Nulle Part, a finalist for the Femina Prize, and the story Le Silence de mon père (2016), which won the Porte Dorée Prize and the Amerigo Vespucci Prize. Additionally, she co-authored Lettres d'amour et de guerre with Ukrainian writers Pavlo and Viktoriya Matiusha.
Doan Bui has also ventured into graphic novels, contributing scripts for Fake News and C'est quoi un terroriste. Her journalistic excellence was recognized with the Albert Londres Prize in 2013 for her work on migration. Her literary prowess has garnered numerous accolades, highlighting her significant contributions to contemporary literature and journalism.
